Brownsteins Give Now and Through an Estate Gift to Support the Future of GA

Ira and Jenny Brownstein (P’28 ’30)As the Our Moment campaign moves into its next phase, the awareness for thoughtfully planned gifts comes much more sharply into focus. Over the last year we have achieved our facility goal by building the Health & Wellness Center ($10 million) and have made strong headway toward our endowment goal of adding $16 million to our existing fund ($9.16 million raised through this past summer).

Bolstering the growth of our overall endowment serves a few key areas of need here at the school. Financial aid, in some amount, is accessed by 34% of our current student body. Compensation for our teachers is enhanced by a healthier endowment. Increases bolster our ability to recruit and retain the best faculty. We are also committed to providing programmatic support to our core educational components as well as extra-curricular offerings such as service learning and athletics. For all these reasons, growth in our invested funding helps us meet these critical needs.

Entering their ninth year as GA parents, Ira and Jenny Brownstein (P’28 ’30) join the many in recognition of how fast time flies. Over the years, they have deepened their personal volunteer commitment, highlighted by Jenny’s leadership roles in the Parents’ Committee and Ira’s service on the Board of Trustees. Their commitment to the advancement of our school is evident in the special way they approached their participation in the Our Moment campaign. For the immediate term they generously supported the Health & Wellness Center, which represents their family’s priority for living and supporting a healthy lifestyle.

In addition, they have made a longer-term investment in the school’s endowment by making plans to support the school’s endowment through their estate. This bequest is a thoughtful promise to boost the school’s fiscal health in the future and now qualifies them among the newest members of the Samuel E. Osbourn Society.

“Doing our part in the moment means helping to ensure the viability of the Health & Wellness Center at this critical time, and we are so excited to see the impact this state-of-the-art facility will have on every child for years to come. Also, we are interested in doing our part to ensure that GA always has the financial resources to meet the needs of its community. We have found it easy to consider our family legacy by making a provision for the future.”
